Cupping
Cupping is a physical therapy technique that uses suction cups placed on the skin to lift soft tissue, improve blood circulation, and relieve muscle tension. Performed by a licensed physical therapist, a single session targets one body area and includes mobility and stretching exercises to complement the treatment.
This session is suitable for individuals experiencing back or shoulder tightness, muscle knots, or soreness from physical activity or prolonged sitting. It is commonly chosen by office workers dealing with postural tension, athletes recovering from training, or anyone seeking relief from chronic muscle discomfort.
Session Inclusions:
- Cupping Therapy (1 body area)
- Mobility Exercises
- Stretching Exercises
- Session Duration: approximately 45 minutes
One body area refers to one treatment region per session — for example, the back, shoulder, neck, knee, or leg.
What to Expect:
- Suction cups are applied to the skin over the target area, creating a lifting sensation
- Mild redness or circular marks may appear after the session — this is normal and typically fades within a few days
- Most patients feel immediate relief in muscle tension and improved range of motion
Do Not Book If You Have:
- Active skin infection, open wounds, or inflammation in the treatment area
- A bleeding disorder or are taking blood-thinning medication
- Severe varicose veins in the treatment area
- Pregnancy (over the abdomen or lower back)
If you would like to consult with our Physical Therapist or Rehabilitation Medicine doctor before booking, appointments can be scheduled separately.
