Cardiovascular Services
If you're dealing with high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, or leg pain while walking, it may be time for a thorough cardiovascular check-up.
At Patient First Medical Clinic and Diagnostics Center, we offer specialized heart and vascular tests designed to detect early signs of circulatory and cardiac problems.
Heart and Vascular Tests
Offered at Patient First
We offer a range of diagnostic tests that assess both heart function and blood flow throughout the body. These are commonly used for patients with symptoms such as palpitations, high blood pressure, leg swelling, dizziness, or suspected circulation problems. All tests are performed in-clinic by trained staff, with results reviewed by licensed physicians or cardiologists.
Our cardiovascular services include:

24-Hour Ambulatory BP Monitoring
ABPM uses a portable device that records your blood pressure at regular intervals over 24 hours, including while you sleep. This gives a more accurate picture of how your blood pressure behaves during your daily routine and helps confirm if treatment is effective.

Ankle Brachial Index (ABI) Test
ABI compares blood pressure in your ankles and arms to detect reduced blood flow to the legs, which can be a sign of peripheral artery disease (PAD). It’s often done for patients with leg cramps when walking or those with diabetes or long-term hypertension.

Electrocardiogram (ECG)
An ECG records the electrical signals of your heart through small electrodes placed on your chest. It’s a quick and painless test that can detect irregular rhythms, signs of previous heart attacks, or other electrical abnormalities in heart function.

24-Hour Holter Monitoring
A Holter monitor is a small device worn on the chest that continuously records your heart’s electrical activity over 24 hours. It’s especially useful for detecting irregular heartbeats that come and go, or for evaluating unexplained symptoms like palpitations or fainting.

Arterial Duplex Scan
This is an ultrasound of your arteries—typically in the legs—to check for narrowing or blockages that may affect circulation. It combines imaging with Doppler technology to assess both the structure of the arteries and the speed of blood flow through them.

Treadmill Stress Test (TMST)
This test measures how your heart responds to physical exertion by monitoring your ECG while you walk on a treadmill. It helps identify signs of reduced blood flow to the heart (commonly linked to heart disease) and assess your exercise tolerance.

2D Echocardiogram with Doppler
This is a non-invasive heart ultrasound that shows how your heart muscles and valves are working. The Doppler feature also tracks how blood flows through the chambers, helping detect issues like valve leaks, weak heart pumping, or abnormal pressure inside the heart.

Carotid Duplex Scan
This test evaluates the carotid arteries in your neck, which carry blood to your brain. It helps detect plaque buildup or narrowing that may increase your risk of stroke, especially if you have high blood pressure, diabetes, or other vascular conditions.

Venous Duplex Scan
This ultrasound examines the veins, especially in the legs, to detect deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or poor blood return to the heart. It’s recommended for patients with leg swelling, visible varicose veins, or a history of clotting problems.
We perform cardiovascular tests for a wide range of patient needs, including routine heart checks, clearance for work or surgery, chronic condition monitoring, and early detection of heart and circulation issues. Most test results are released within 48 to 72 hours, depending on the type of procedure.
At Patient First, we focus on accurate diagnostics, patient safety, and efficient service—from consultation and test preparation to result release and follow-up coordination.
Our goal is to help you understand your heart health clearly, so you can make informed decisions and take action without unnecessary delays.

Need Help Deciding Which Heart Test You Need?
Some heart and vascular tests—especially those covered by HMO or involving imaging like 2D Echo or duplex scans—may require a doctor’s request form before they can be done.
If you’re not sure which test is right for your symptoms, our cardiologists are available to help.
You can consult directly at our Makati or Quezon City clinic, where the doctor will assess your condition, recommend the appropriate test, and provide the necessary referral if needed.
This ensures you get the right test at the right time, without unnecessary delays.
HMO & Insurance Coverage
We accept selected HMO and health insurance providers for many of our cardiovascular tests.
Coverage depends on your provider, the specific test, and whether a doctor’s request form is required.
To avoid delays, we recommend that you call your HMO in advance to verify your coverage and check if you need to consult with our cardiologists for a referral.
