Rheumatology Consultations at Patient First

Joint pain, stiffness, or chronic swelling can point to something more than simple overuse. At Patient First Medical Clinic and Diagnostics Center, our rheumatologists offer walk-in consultations for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions affecting the joints, muscles, and connective tissue.

We help patients understand symptoms, confirm diagnoses, and begin long-term care plans—without the long wait times of larger facilities.

What Is Rheumatology—and When to See a Specialist

Rheumatology is the field of medicine that focuses on autoimmune and inflammatory diseases that affect the joints and soft tissues. Unlike orthopedic conditions caused by physical wear or injury, rheumatologic diseases often stem from immune system dysfunction.

You may need a rheumatology consultation if you have:

  • Morning stiffness in joints lasting more than 30 minutes

  • Swelling in multiple joints (hands, knees, wrists, etc.)

  • Chronic fatigue or muscle aches without a clear cause

  • Unexplained fevers or rashes

  • Positive ANA, ESR, or other autoimmune blood test results

  • Known or suspected conditions like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, or gout

Conditions We Assess and Help Manage

Our rheumatologists can assist with:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis

  • Gout and other crystal arthropathies

  • Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE)

  • Psoriatic arthritis

  • Ankylosing spondylitis

  • Vasculitis (initial evaluation)

  • Fibromyalgia and chronic pain syndromes

  • Autoimmune connective tissue disorders

We provide diagnostic support and monitoring plans for patients managing long-term conditions, and coordinate referrals to hospital-based specialists when advanced care is needed.

Consult with Our Rheumatologist

Inflammatory symptoms are often vague or misunderstood. Our rheumatologist will review your medical history, examine affected joints, and order or interpret relevant lab results to help you find clarity.

We guide newly diagnosed and ongoing cases with step-by-step care planning and lifestyle considerations.

In-Clinic Diagnostics and Support

Your doctor may request or review:

  • Autoimmune panel (ANA, ESR, CRP, RF)

  • Uric acid testing (for gout evaluation)

  • CBC, liver and kidney profile for medication safety

  • X-rays for joint damage

While long-term therapy is often done in coordination with other specialists, our clinic provides a solid foundation for diagnosis, education, and early symptom control.

Patient First is recognized by nearly all HMO Service Providers in the Philippines.

Just bring your HMO card and one valid ID when you visit. For those paying out of pocket, consultation fees and test costs are reasonably priced and can be quoted upon request.

Early Action Can Preserve Joint Function

Autoimmune diseases often progress silently. Timely evaluation from a rheumatologist can help prevent long-term joint damage and improve quality of life.
