Kidney care for hypertension and chronic kidney disease.
Nephrology Consultations Without the Wait
Kidney health is vital to overall well-being, especially for patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, or long-standing medical conditions.
At Patient First Medical Clinic and Diagnostics Center, our Nephrologist provides walk-in consultations for adults who need kidney screening, management of kidney-related conditions, or evaluation of abnormal lab results.
Consultations are available at select branches. No referral required. HMO patients are welcome.
What Is Nephrology—and Who Should See a Kidney Specialist
Nephrology is the medical specialty focused on the kidneys and urinary system. The kidneys are responsible for filtering waste, balancing fluids, and regulating blood pressure and electrolytes.
Patients are often referred to a nephrologist if they have:
Abnormal kidney function tests (e.g., high creatinine)
Protein or blood in urine
Persistent swelling in legs or feet
Uncontrolled high blood pressure
Electrolyte imbalances (e.g., high potassium)
Chronic conditions like diabetes or lupus affecting the kidneys
Our nephrologist provides screening, monitoring, and medical management. Early consultation helps detect and manage chronic kidney disease (CKD) before it progresses.
Symptoms and Conditions We Assess and Manage
You may benefit from a nephrology consultation if you're experiencing:
Puffiness around the eyes, hands, or feet
Fatigue or weakness without clear cause
Nausea, poor appetite, or metallic taste in the mouth
Reduced urine output or frequent urination at night
Difficulty controlling blood pressure despite medication
Our nephrologist helps diagnose and manage:
Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
Acute kidney injury (AKI)
Proteinuria or hematuria
Diabetic nephropathy
Hypertensive kidney disease
Electrolyte abnormalities
Nephrotic syndrome
Polycystic kidney disease
We also guide patients on medication safety, fluid balance, and dietary changes to support kidney function.

In-Clinic Testing for Kidney Health
During your consultation, your doctor may request diagnostic tests such as:
Serum creatinine and eGFR
Urinalysis and urine protein tests
Blood urea nitrogen (BUN)
Electrolyte panel (sodium, potassium, calcium)
Fasting blood sugar or HbA1c (for diabetic kidney monitoring)
Kidney ultrasound
These can be done on-site, and most results are available within the same visit or shortly after. We also coordinate referrals for imaging or biopsy when needed.
Prioritize Your Kidney Health Today
Don’t wait until symptoms worsen. If you have diabetes, high blood pressure, or unusual lab findings, early nephrology consultation can make a long-term difference.
